Happy New Year

So, 2005 was fairly eventful for us...

In the end of April we finally got to move to Aix en Provence in the south of France, which is the place we were headed for when we left Iceland. Obviously God's plan was a bit different, seeing as we made a 2 year stop in Paris on our way there but we're glad we did. We made a lot of friends and had a really good time living in Paris.

We had a great summer, spent a lot of time on the Cote d'Azur, went to Monaco and Perpignan and had lots of fun. We still have tan lines !

So why did we leave ?

I was tired of being away all the time (I probably spent 60-70% of weekdays traveling) so I started looking around for a new job. I saw a job that looked interesting but was based in Dublin, Ireland. After discussing it with Iris I sent my CV and from that point things happened very fast and 4 weeks later we were out of the country.
Although the south of France is a beautiful place and fun to be, Iris wasn't working and it looked like she would just end up working in a hotel or something like that, something she doesn't really plan on making a career out of. Also, AA is very small down there and not having any AA work to do had a big say in this decision.
After we started looking at Ireland we saw that this place is full of exciting opportunities for both of us and that we would be able to live a good life over here and advance our careers.

So here we are and we're not disappointed.

I guess we had a lot of changes in 2005, the most (only?) difficult one obviously parting with our little boy Amir. At least physically, he's still with us though.

We moved over a grand total of 2674 Kilometres in 2005 and our plan is not to move anytime soon... I think we might just stick to that plan too because we really like it here but then again, we're not the ones in charge here are we ?

If you'd like to come visit just let us know, we have a spare room with a double bed.
