So I was racing at a Grasstrack race on Saturday along with my friend Rory and wrote up this report on the South Dublin Motocross forums and thought I´d include it here as well:

There were 24 riders in my class which was MX1 and MX2 C class driven together since there werent that many riders in total.

1st Moto
When the gates dropped for the first moto I got a very good start and was in 5th position out of the first corner. I cut the second corner a bit wide and 2 more slipped past me but at the end of the first lap I was sitting in 7th position with a bit of distance to the next rider behind me and Rory sitting in 10th.

On my second or third lap I made a mistake coming around one of the corners and went sliding sideways in the muck.
Rory and 6 of his friends showed no respect and zoomed past me as I was getting back on the bike.
Although I was pretty spent after the fall I held the 15th position with great help from the roaring sound of a 2stroke trying to get past me at every corner. He didn't and I finished the moto in 15th position.
Rory finished the first moto in 9th position.

2nd Moto
In the second moto we all went roaring towards that first corner and I found myself a bit more in the crowd than the first time.
Coming around the first corner someone stuck out their leg right into my front wheel and again I'm face down in the mud left dead last out of the first corner.

I rode hard since I don't like being last and gradually worked my way past a couple of riders until I reached one who was driving a little bit slower than me but constantly blocked me when I tried to pass.
When we finally got to the straight down the hill I had him and went for it flat out. As I was passing him on the left hand side at the fastest part of the track your man decides to change lines (unless he was stupid enough to try to block me there) which resulted in me hitting the handlebars off some part of him or his bike.
Needless to say I got a bit of air, a couple of rolls and ended it all in an elegant mudslide.

My never-cutting-out YZF lay there on the ground still running so after asking the other rider what the bleep he was thinking and having him shout obscenities at me, me and my Yammie took off again to finish that moto, quite surprisingly at 18th place.

At the end of the day we all left with a smile (and aching body in my case) after another great day of racing!

Since we believe discipline is something this home lacks we have decided to trust military trainers with our fitness from the 2nd of November until Christmas.

So we've found and signed up for Bootcamp in Ireland

Iris just called me from work to tell me that our new camera has arrived !

I was told by ChicoRockstar (Escape.is on the right hand side) that the Ixus 65 was a good camera and after reading a little bit about it I started looking on Ebay and ended up winning a bid for it !

Finally we have entered the 21st Century and got a Credit card !

The first thing we bought were the flight tickets to New York in August.

Yes, we will be visiting the U.S. for the first time from 1-10 of August !
The main reason of our trip is to go to the Fellowship Of The Spirit conference which we've been wanting to go to since 2002 !
You can read about it here.

We don't have a place to stay yet and are trying to find a hotel for a reasonable price although I'm not sure that exists over there. There's either the hotels which you know are very good (Intercontinental etc.) but there you pay 300$+ pr night.
Then we have the cheaper hotels but we don't know the neighbourhoods and are only looking at the hotels online so it's a bit of a gamble.

So if you know your way around New York or know someone there who could help us then feel free to let us know !!!

We will be buying a digital camera over there so you can expect some more Vlogs and photos getting posted.

No excuse but Lazyness !

Yes, we have been extremely busy but still...

We're doing good, B&B came and visited us a couple of weeks ago and we had loads of fun . They are now booked for a yearly visit. They just don't know that yet...

We got insurance for the car - Finally (haven't been able to use it until the beginning of May!).

I have a theory about the lack of blogging:

Firstly, Iris is very very lazy as can be seen by the .5 percent of posts she's signs for on this blog.

As for myself, I started off Vlogging and then the camera broke down as can be seen on the second Vlog. Vlogging is much more fun than actual blogging so thats why... Yeah, yeah that's it... So it's all Iris' and the camera's fault !

Who knows, might just go ahead and buy a new camera soon.

I blame the lack of news on this site entirely on the fact that we were moving and don't have internet access at the new place yet.
I sincerely hope nobody is getting suicidal from the dissapointment and feeling of rejection that this surely is causing all our readers out there.

Everything and nothing

So I quit my job !

Long long story, but to sum up:
They made promises before hiring me - I found out they weren't true - I called them on it - They told me I would have the opportunity of maybe working my way up to another team where I would get a better level of training (but still not to the point I was told) - I quit - They're charging me relocation fees of almost 2000 Euros.

Result: HP and Manpower seem to do business in a very sleazy way...

I'll see what happens in all this and probably will post the whole story here someday, although I doubt the 1,6 readers of the site will be very amused.

Upside: I got a job with Dell, who are apparently much more serious, proposed to take me on to the Server support team but, if everything goes well, I'll be looking at a promotion after 6 months.
And they pay me a lot better.

Just started listening to Jose Gonzales - Veneer
Have only listened to two songs so far but can't say I'm impressed. I'm still giving it a shot though and will continue listening on my way home from work.
The Sony TV commercial has to be one of the best commercials ever, 250.000 bouncing balls - No computer gimmicks, just real bouncing balls, bouncing down a street in San Francisco.
Jose Gonzales' guitar provides the strange relaxed-and-happy sensation I get when I watch that ad.
